Author Guidelines

A. Note for Authors:

  1. The manuscript is written in Indonesian language or in English using the spelling according to the Oxford Dictionary.
  2. The manuscript is not being processed or has been published in other journals.
  3. Copyright manuscript published by Oseanologi dan Limnologi di Indonesia will be submitted to the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI).

B. The composition of the manuscript:

  1. Title maximum 15 words, written in Indonesian and English.
  2. Author’s name is written in full, without title. If the manuscript is written by two authors or more with different institution addresses the authors’ names are followed by a number of institutions in superscript.
  3. Address of author’s institution is written under the author’s name.
  4. Only corresponding author’s email is shown under the institution address.
  5. Abstract is written in Indonesian and English; contains brief background, objectives, methodology, results and conclusions of research, maximum 250 words.
  6. Keywords are important words representing the content of the manuscript, between 4 and 6 words, written in Indonesian and English.
  7. Introduction includes research background, problems encountered, literature review from relevant previous studies, proposed problem solving and the objectives of the study.
  8. Methodology includes the location and time of the research as well as methods and analyses used, with pictures and tables if necessary.
  9. Results section contains the study results which are described briefly. Data in the Results section can be displayed in the form of images or tables. The contents of figures and tables are written in English, while the caption is written in Indonesian and English
  10. The discussion assesses the results presented in the Results section and contains the significance of the research. Avoid discussing too detailed the references cited.
  11. The conclusion is not a summary of the Results and Discussion, but contains the implications that are not mentioned, but it is implied in the Results and Discussion to be concluded in the Conclusion section. The conclusion answers the research objectives and may be added with suggestions, if any, written in one paragraph without number.
  12. Acknowledgment embodies ethics by mentioning the sources of research funding and gratitude to the personnels involved in the research.
  13. Manuscript is typed in Microsoft Word, font 12, Times New Roman, Size A4, one and a half spacing with margin of 2 cm top, 2 cm bottom, 2.5 cm left, 2 cm right. The maximum length of the manuscript is 25 pages, attachments, tables and images inclusive. Pages are numbered, but chapter or section is not


Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in  Microsoft Word document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
